Datasets of aerosol products produced by the Aerosol project within the ESA Climate Change Initiative (CCI). The primary products produced in the aerosol_cci project are level 2 (daily 10km and 50km pixel products) and level 3 (aggregated monthly gridded datasets) multi-spectral AOD and associated probabilities of pre-defined aerosol types for a number of European satellite instruments (ATSR-2, AATSR, MERIS, POLDER, GOME, SCIAMACHY, OMI, GOME-2, AVHRR/3); stratospheric aerosols are observed with GOMOS (and tested for SCIAMACHY).

Data is provided for the period 1995 to 2002. In 2002, it also contains data from the AATSR instrument on the ENVISAT satellite. A separate AATSR product covering the period 2002-2012 is also available, and together these form a continuous timeseries from 1995-2012.
